With a breadth of experience across an extensive range of sectors, Hogarth offers the unrivaled ability to deliver relevant, engaging, and measurable content across all channels and media – both established and emerging.The number of channels at our fingertips; the need for speed; and the drive for mass personalisation, all mean that brands need different solutions.Our global team of over 6,000 craft and technology experts brings together creative, production and innovation to help clients navigate this exciting and ever-changing world of today’s content experience.The Copyeditor will be responsible for copyediting, proofreading and production editing of translated materials in Greek.Working closely with copywriters and other creatives, the Copyeditor will perform final editing and validation of customer facing communications materials for our client, an exciting global brand.Maintaining the highest possible standards of work, the ideal candidate will apply their advanced editing and linguistic skills, technical knowledge and exceptional attention to detail to ensure clarity and accuracy across all communications.This is a freelance, remote, project based position.Key Responsibilities

  • Edit and proofread editorial, marketing, and social media copy, across digital, print and in-store communications
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent tone of voice, personality and cultural relevance for your market
  • Work closely with validation and creative teams on a high volume of projects, delivering on time and to an excellent standard, often with short deadlines
  • Leverage glossaries and style guides to ensure alignment with the brand’s tone of voice, ensuring clarity and accuracy of translations, and maintaining the highest possible standard of work
  • Responsible for ensuring product and technical accuracy, as well as linguistic accuracy
  • Ensuring special attention is paid to whether content is appropriate and correct for the target market
  • Responsible for providing ongoing linguistic guidance and feedback to Translation partners, client’s producers and project managers
  • Responsible for keeping own product and brand knowledge up to date

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a copyediting and/or subediting role, ideally within a creative or marketing agency, reputable publication or publishing house
  • Experience editing and proofreading marketing and communications materials, preferably for a creative or consumer brand
  • Native speaker with nuanced understanding of language conventions, style and usage
  • Possess familiarity with U.S. English style and usage
  • Experience working for global brands
  • Working knowledge of translation and project management tools
  • Experience in supporting the development and maintenance of style guides and glossaries
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work as a team member. Must be able to perform effectively and efficiently under time pressure
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to focus, adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess a solid understanding of the creative development and production process
  • Great technical literacy and comfortable working with digital teams
