As the Director of IT/Consultant, you will be responsible for strategically planning, overseeing and directing the Firm’s activities in all aspects of Information Technology and assuring that the highest level of IT performance is being achieved for the Firm and its clients. This position receives work from the Managing Partner and the Head of the Technology Committee. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage an IT strategic plan that encapsulates an IT roadmap for a 3-5 year time span. It would outline the overall goals, required strategies, and tactics to support those IT goals in alignment with the organization’s overall business objectives.
  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including but not limited to servers, PCs, operating systems, telephones, software applications, and peripherals.
  • Identify and eliminate security vulnerabilities with strategic solutions that increase data security as well as monitor Firm’s WISP (written information security plan).
  • Provide expertise and support during systems upgrades, installations, migrations, conversions, and file maintenance.
  • Oversee systems development, enhancement and the integration of new systems with existing systems.
    Work with Managing Partner and Technology Committee to develop and implement short and long-term IT strategies to enhance internal user effectiveness, client services, and foster innovation.
  • Manage IT staff, including hiring, training, evaluation, guidance, discipline and discharge.
  • Develop the IT staff to meet the changing needs of users, groups and offices; new projects and technologies; and varying staff strengths.
  • Ensure the creation and maintenance of all written documentation, including system and user manuals, license agreements, and documentation of modifications and upgrades.
  • Keep current with the latest technologies and identify opportunities for technology-driven innovation and efficiency improvements that will meet our business and system requirements.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with our software and hardware providers and developers.
  • Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.
  • Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
  • Support the overall mission and follow all standards, policies, procedures, and confidentiality guidelines.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a consultant to clients by troubleshooting and analyzing client IT issues.
  • Participate in office and Firm wide initiatives.
  • Actively pursue self-development opportunities.
  • Build strong team relationships, internal and external.
  • Maintain personal and professional integrity at all times.
  • This position occasionally requires long hours, occasional weekend work and additional on-call availability during busy season.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility
The Director of IT directly supervises all staff within the IT department.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, scanners and fax machines. This position occasionally requires long hours, occasional weekend work and additional on-call availability during busy season.

Travel
Travel is primarily local to the Firm offices and client offices
