Learning Support Assistant

• Location: Ellesmere Port
• Hourly Rate: £16-£19 per hour
• Hours: Variable hours available (term time only)

Dovetail and Slate are currently working with a Further Education Provider in Ellesmere Port recruiting for Learning Support Assistant positions.Job DescriptionSupporting learners to achieve and progress by removing the barriers to learning. Enabling learners with additional learning support needs to have the same opportunities for success as other learners, providing a supportive link between the learners and their course.Job Role

• Provide direct in-class and out of class support to help learners to access the curriculum and the college environment. This can be face to face or remote provision.
• Work flexibly on either a one-to-one basis or group basis supporting learners with additional support needs as guided by the Learning Support Co-ordinators.
• Provide practical and personal care for learners as required.
• Support learners with mobility needs to access all aspects of the campus.
• Support learners to access the college systems.
• Assist with preparation and adaptation of materials.
• Regularly communicate with the Learning Support Co-ordinators and the Inclusive Learning Advisors about learner needs and provide feedback on support delivered.
• Immediately report any learner concerns including safeguarding and welfare concerns, both for the learners receiving in-class support and other learners within the college.

Person Specification

• Level 2 or equivalent qualifications
• GCSE Grade C in English and Maths or Equivalent
• Evidence of relevant continuous professional development
• Experience of working in a similar support environment
• Experience of working & communications effectively with people with learning difficulties
