Job description
DescriptionOperations Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the General Store, ensuring smooth functioning across all departments.
- Implement and maintain operational policies and procedures to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts, and P&L statements.
- Monitor financial performance, identify areas for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
- Implement strategies to achieve financial targets with expected annual sales of $3-4M.
Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and supervise a diverse team of ~20 employees.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote high performance and customer service excellence.
- Manage team performance to ensure deliverables are met.
Customer Experience:
- Establish, train, and maintain customer service protocols.
- Address customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a timely manner on all channels.
- Develop strategies to enhance overall customer experience and build community and customer loyalty.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
- Manage inventory levels for liquor store, grocery, and takeout operations.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure efficient stocking processes.
- Work with team to ensure visual presentation standards meet brand expectations and enhance customer experiences.
Marketing and Sales:
- Collaborate with the leadership team on promotional campaigns and events.
- Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities across store segments.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities.
Operational Systems:
- Implement and manage Inventory software system for inventory control and POS (Lightspeed).
- Handle invoicing, weekly payroll, and tips distribution.
Start-Up Leadership:
- Lead start-up phase including hiring, systems setup, and merchandising.
- Develop and implement effective operational strategies from the ground up.

- Proven experience as a General Manager in retail liquor store, grocery, or food service management.
- Strong organizational, inventory management, and communication skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for start-ups and new ventures.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and liquor licensing regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office and POS systems.
