Collaborating with a team of experienced research scientists, you will engage in brainstorming sessions, literature reviews, and the elaboration, implementation, and validation of various image processing and machine learning algorithms.Your contributions will be integral to the advancement of image-guided radiotherapy equipment, ultimately enhancing cancer treatment solutions.If you are passionate about making a meaningful impact in the field of medical imaging and radiotherapy, we invite you to join us in our mission to improve cancer care worldwide.What you’ll do at ElektaAs a Senior Research Scientist, your contributions will be integral to the advancement of image-guided radiotherapy equipment, ultimately enhancing cancer treatment solutions.Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):Develop high quality algorithms and methodologies for real-time tracking of key anatomical structures in temporal series of 2D/3D MRI medical images.Design image processing algorithms (segmentation and registration), probabilistic reasoning and machine learning algorithms in image-guided radiation therapy.Implement software applications that include design, unit testing, validation.Collaborate frequently with software development and SW QA.Create theoretical models to assess the relevancy, complexity, and technological feasibility of the approaches.Assess and optimize the quality, stability and robustness of motion tracking algorithms on clinical datasets.Perform investigations into unusual system behavior or failure cases.Carry out certain detailed tests on systems for release. Review literature and write report on existing mathematical models.Collaborate extensively across teams.Liaison with clinical research partners and/or customers to review algorithms solution and performance.The right stuffExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Proficient skills in mathematics.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.Skills in team participation.What you bringPh.D. in biomedical engineering, medical physics, computer engineering or in a relevant academic field.
