The Opportunity

Cornell University Information Technologies seeks an accomplished and proactive Senior PeopleSoft Developer specializing in Application Security and Operations. This pivotal role will contribute to enhancing and safeguarding the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions environment, supporting both academic and administrative functions critical to Cornell’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Application Security and Operations: Lead the design, development, and upkeep of the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions application security framework.
  • PeopleSoft Development: Customize and extend PeopleSoft functionalities to align with specific campus needs, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to security standards.
  • Projects and Upgrades: Contribute to the rollout of a new cloud security product designed to seamlessly integrate with PeopleSoft for user provisioning workflow and reviews. Lead and participate in PeopleSoft system upgrades, applying patches and fixes while considering application security requirements.
  • Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with external hosting partners, project teams, and end-users to gather requirements and ensure successful implementation of changes and to achieve project objectives effectively.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Document configurations, customizations, and operational procedures to maintain an organized record of changes and facilitate knowledge transfer within the team.

What We Need

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a PeopleSoft Developer, specializing in Campus Solutions application security within higher education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in PeopleTools, encompassing application security, security data architecture, Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Component Interface, and Integration Broker.
  • Strong understanding of PeopleSoft security administration, including permission lists, roles, and user profiles.
  • Strong understanding of the structured organization of data elements within the database, including tables handling security setup, student records, course information, financial data, etc.
  • Deep understanding of how data entities (e.g security, students, courses, faculty) relate to each other and interact within the application.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft upgrades, applying updates, patches, and managing version control.
  • Proficiency in utilizing Splunk for log analysis, monitoring, and creating actionable insights.
  • Strong SQL skills and familiarity with relational database concepts, particularly Oracle databases.
  • Experience in large implementation projects and providing daily production support.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with PeopleSoft version 9.2 or above.
  • Certification in PeopleSoft technology or related fields.
  • Experience in implementing and configuring Pathlock Appsian solutions for access control and data protection within PeopleSoft environments.
  • Experience working on both large implementation projects and daily production support.
