The Role & Key ResponsibilitiesJob title: Finance Business Partner – GermainsLocation: United Kingdom or Netherlands (Hybrid working)Contract type: Fixed-term (12 months)We are seeking a Finance Business Partner to join our professional team at Germains Seed Technology to provide commercial and operational financial leadership and partnering to the European Business Unit in UK, Netherlands and Spain.The role is expected to input into strategy, business and customer health, compliance, and risk, as well as regular reviews of financial performance. The Finance Business Partner will be accountable for all aspects of the preparation and integrity of the management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and statutory financial statements. Further the role is responsible for ensuring a robust financial control framework across all sites.The job holder is also responsible for partnering and supporting the European functional leads in their routine and ad hoc financial activities, providing financial support for long-term planning.What you’ll be doing:Strategic Business SupportSupport the European Leadership Team in delivering against strategic objectives including the European Five-Year plan. Active participation in decision making, obtaining strong knowledge of the market, strategic priorities, and provision of financial analysis. Ensure that all members of the European Leadership team are aware of, and accountable for, all financial opportunities within their span of control. Contributes to long term planning and strategy by providing the ELT with financial information / analysis and making recommendations and suggestions based on the findings.Budget and ForecastingTo lead the ELT in forecasts and budgets, utilising relationships, and knowledge of the business to guide short to mid-term decision making. Provides periodic and ad hoc financial analysis for the European Business Unit, providing detailed commentary for variances as well as identifying areas of risk and opportunity. Management of periodic reporting process in Europe communicating to the Global Leadership Team and the European Leadership Team ensuring communications around financial targets, challenges and risk mitigation are clear. Ensures accurate budgeting and forecasting takes place across all European sites; variances to previous budgets are clearly explained and support the European Leadership Team in communication of variances.Financial ExcellenceMaintain robust control systems and structure in line with ABF’s financial control framework. Continuously improve financial controls and processes, streamlining processes across sites to reduce improved efficiency in routine and ad hoc activities. Support, challenge and approval of Capital submissions, ensuring that the justification is sound, all options have been evaluated, returns assessed, and the corresponding paperwork is complete and correct.ProjectsIdentify and undertake any projects which will improve the Finance department or contribute to wider EU / Global initiatives. This role will involve spending time in the UK, Netherlands and Spain.What will you bring:

  • ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified
  • Experience of quarterly forecasting, capital planning and financial review with the ability to add commercial insight and advise around opportunities and risks.
  • Financial reporting and controls experience
  • Possess an analytical mindset with the ability to draw on data to assist with decision making.
  • Proven stakeholder management and partnering experience with the ability to position the right approach, listen and influence Heads of Commercial and where needed challenge and promote positive change.
  • Possess commercial acumen aligning group strategy and long term objectives with financial activities and shorter term planning to reach goals.
  • Operational understanding with ideally a manufacturing, agricultural or similar industry background.
  • A team player who can collaborate with others and be pro-active at building relationships internally.
