We’re giving you the chance to work on one of the country’s most loved TV programmes – ITV’s ‘This Morning’ as a Fashion Producer.You’ll have a keen eye for all things fashion related and a background in either broadcast media or experience working for fashion/lifestyle magazines. Experience in styling women, men and children is essential, as is an in depth knowledge of all the latest catwalk and celebrity trends. Broadcast experience is necessary.You will be one step ahead of all the high street trends and have contacts with brands and PRs. Working to tight deadlines whilst styling fashion looks for items from makeovers to fashion shoots, and producing fashion experts. You must have a thorough understanding of body shapes and how to dress these accordingly.You will be reactive to topical news and feature stories and have a strong command of the editorial content of each show. You will know the ethos of the This Morning viewer, and have an excellent grasp of the sort of fashion items that they would find informative and entertaining.You will be responsible for delivering accurate costs for each show. An understanding of compliance and OfCom regulations is also desirable. A flexible approach to work is important as you may be required to work weekends and bank holidays on occasion.About the role:This Morning is a live daily show that features fashion segments at least twice a week. Managing the fashion team and giving them model and styling briefs for all fashion items. Given the topical nature of the show, ideas often come up last minute and with very short lead times. You will come up with all fashion content for the show including topical weekly fashion items and makeovers. You will be in charge of booking all fashion talent and oversee and style looks for the live items. You will have some early starts working to dress viewers for the live show. Also, you will be required to work and set up shoots on location. Producing live location shoots and VT’s which may include travel.The role in brief:
- Creating all fashion content for the show
- Producing all live studio items
- Producing and overseeing all pre-recorded fashion VT’s and strands
- Booking all fashion talent
- Planning ahead and keeping across new talent and features
- Ability to adapt quickly to last minute changes whilst remaining calm
- Ability to oversee edit of fashion VT’s and strands
- Good communication skill with management and talent
- Experience managing a team
- Styling outfits for all fashion content
- A calm, professional manner suited to a busy TV studio.
- Strong relationships with fashion PRs, Influencers and Fashion Experts
- Managing and processing budgets for the department.
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- Candidates for the role of Fashion Producer must display a strong and extensive background in fashion styling and production. Experience of working in TV is essential. You must have experience of styling from High Street and online brands. An up-to-the-minute knowledge of fashion, trends and celebrity news is essential, as is a keen eye for forward planning and generating ideas for future fashion segments.
- Styling prep must be strictly in alignment with the This Morning viewers’ aesthetic and income, and suitable for our ‘Real Women’ models. While catwalk trends are often dissected and discussed on the show, an approachable, high street translation of designer collections is essential. The ethos and target audience of This Morning must inform all your work.
- Experience in managing budgets and expenses is also essential. Candidates will also be required to oversee and contribute to the return of loaned samples from press.
