Position Type:Employee RegularEntry Into Class SpecialistLloyd’s RegisterLocation: – UK Home Based.What we’re looking forThe purpose of the role is to provide technical support to field surveyors and business development teams alike regarding Lloyd’s Register’s Entry into Class TOC process so that we deliver a continually improving classification service to owners and operators of ships in the LR fleet and new clients.What we offer you

The role

  • To manage a caseload for ships entering Lloyd’s Register class through the Transfer of Class process
  • To co-ordinate the acquisition and processing of technical data for ships in the caseload
  • To prepare endorsement reports for submission to the Classification Executive Committee
  • To liaise with surveyors and Clients regarding matters associated with class and regulatory compliance
  • To provide technical assistance and guidance to those undertaking class entry work
  • To monitor adherence to classification procedures to ensure that defined standards and performance measures are upheld
  • To contribute to the improvement of team processes
  • To contribute to the training and development of team members

What you bring

  • A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organisation recognised by Lloyd’s Register within the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum of two years programme) or
  • Qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship’s officer.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institution.
  • Working towards achieving Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
  • Proficiency in the English Language commensurate with the work.
