Job Summary:

The client is embarking on significant capital investment across EMEA in particular in London. The Project Support Office established in the London campus is designed to own control and manage building impact. The team provide integration from all client service lines delivering work to ensure critical services are maintained and minimal disruption to the lines of business. This role will involve management and leadership of the Project Support Office.

In this newly created role it elevates the existing operational delivery to strategic and tactical planning. The position interacts directly with Client’s group on a daily basis on established and new requirements and is responsible to address outstanding issues and escalations. Position presents scenarios and risk mitigation across all workstreams along with responsibility of programming all works across the campus with a focus on safety and no building impact.

The role also involves detailed fortnightly report to key Client team, showing both look back and look ahead status on all critical works along with 6 week look ahead planning

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will hold full accountability for the campus projects, providing oversight, leadership and effective management of external contractors, logistics, project master programme and act as the single point of contact for the PM, FM, Engineering and the bank’s direct vendors.

  • Main point of contact for Project Managers, Programme Managers and FM/Engineering Leads regarding programme of project works across the London Campus

  • Drive 6 week look ahead adherence to combine concurrent programmes of work

  • Line management of the PSO Site Construction Manager, Matrix dotted management of CEWA Engineer and PSO shift engineering team

  • Provision of strong upward and downward communications within the team

  • Understand different client’s needs and preferences to the running of a building and adapt as appropriate

  • Own and issue communications to bank staff on all planned works, pro-actively meet and work with key stakeholders in affected areas

  • Effectively communicates challenges and support to provide pragmatic solutions

  • Reviews and managing site operations and logistics with all the Contractors on site

  • Manages a master programme of all projects (PM/FM/Eng)

  • Has experience on projects in live office environment

  • Oversee site activities across a programme of projects and monitor the project schedule

  • Leading a project office based in the London campus.

  • Responsible for the safety of the public, and bank employees when working in a live environment.

  • Manage the daily huddle to co- ordinate site activities, ensuring they are working safely and efficiently.

  • Reviews and managing site operations and logistics with all the Contractors on site

  • Provide a safe and healthy work environment with responsibility for EHS compliance for both CBRE and supplier partners

  • Ensure contingency plans are in place for emergencies

  • Understand and comply with site safety rules and requirement; ensure all on-going training is conducted by all team members, including monthly tool box talks

  • Ensure reporting is timely and complete and all on-site documentation is up to date and easily accessible; Schedule of audits for various services to feed into scorecard

Essential Skills:

  • A competent operational manager who demonstrates professionalism, leadership and excellent knowledge of a multi-service business and operations, ideally gained in multi-site regional operations.

  • Effective leader, capable of both team and individual motivation whilst contributing to the wider CBRE team and business

  • General operational management skill set, knowledge of both management and physical property management delivery capable of evaluating risk quickly and providing decisive direction to resolve situations and problems

  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven relationship management abilities

  • Develop and ensure high performing team. Maximize performance through quality staffing, performance management, coaching, development and succession planning.

  • Recruits, hires, and retains management and service delivery staff.

  • Prepares and delivers clear performance expectations, performance reviews and development plans for direct reports.

Qualifications / Experience / Professional Memberships:

  • Degree or qualifications at further education level essential

  • Prince 2, APM or similar Project Management qualifications

  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in business and property management with a proven track record in business growth and development for a large and complex client

  • Knowledge of engineering electrical and mechanical disciplines both within Critical and non critical environments but degree in Engineering not essential.

  • Project and Programme Management skills for programmes in excess of $100M

  • Knowledge of project management within critical and non critical environments

  • Solid experience in customer relationship management and with dealing with supplier partners/contractors

  • Membership of an IFM related professional body i.e. RICS/BIFM, CIBSE, IEE.
