You will be responsible for leading Loblaw Digital and enterprise-wide initiatives in guiding our overall modernization, cloud-native, and observability strategy. You’ll combine software engineering and systems engineering principles to influence product and infrastructure roadmaps. You will lead teams in building tools and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications, improve reliability, stability, and optimize system performance and cost – all to push our capabilities forward, get ahead of customer needs, and drive continuous innovation.Working closely with the Senior Director SRE, and acting as a key member of the technology leadership team, the Director of SRE at Loblaw Technology will be accountable for three key technology functions in supporting the broader technology and business teams at Loblaw Digital: 1) Technical Program Management, 2) Technical Application Support and 3) Cloud Architecture and Systems Design.What You’ll Do:

  • Lead a team of SRE’s accountable for improving developer productivity and building tooling to make it easier for teams to self-serve and enable ownership
  • Oversight of professional services vendors, ensuring deliverables are on time and on budget
  • Drive operational processes for the triage, investigation and resolution of all P1 and P2 issues
  • Advocate and identify efficiencies in Cloud Adoption and ensure alignment across various teams.
  • Provide thought leadership to optimize cloud costs, secure platforms, and improve stability using automation.
  • Standardize and promote reusable patterns/frameworks/processes to onboard more applications to cloud

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to effect change
  • Cloud native mindset and experience working with cloud architecture, networking, security, operations and design patterns.
  • Experience leading teams in high-volume, complex, consumer facing environments
  • You are highly responsive, have a customer-first mindset, able to prioritize and track multiple projects in parallel.
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills including ability to work in a cross-functional environment and engage with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, coach, and inspire a technology services team
