JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the planning, direction, coordination and control of activities concerned with the Laboratory services. Communicates expectations of the organization to employees. Provides supervision of section functions ensuring accuracy of results. Develops procedural protocols, and trains other lab personnel in procedures and the use of instrumentation. Participates in PI activities and ensures hospital meets Joint Commission, State of Tennessee, and Federal government standards. Supervises daily staff activities for assigned area or function. Reports directly to Lab Director and supports all aspects of Lab operations. Supervises the Lab if the Director is not readily available. Helps other departments as assigned or need on a prn basis.

Minimum Education
Graduate of a Program in ML for the State of Tennessee
Has acquired Supervisor status for the State of Tennessee within 1 year of being in position.

Master’s degree in Medical Technology or Health Administration preferred.

AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) is required within 90 days of employment, if not current upon hire.
