Prime Video’s Software Development Managers (SDMs) work with multiple worldwide teams and services, helping build software products and features from scratch. You coordinate, plan, track and communicate complex work streams, ensuring your teams have what they need to progress and deliver the right thing at the right time. Your responsibilities include every aspect of the team’s leadership from mentoring, promotion, performance evaluation to leading key programs. Programs which need you to manage requirements gathering, scoping, through implementation to launch. You will have the freedom and encouragement to explore your own ideas and improvements with the reward of seeing your contributions benefit millions of Amazon customers worldwide.About the team
You will be part of the Commerce Financial Systems (FinSys) organisation. Our leaders in this space help create global, automated, accounting services – think royalties and accounting for the Prime Video product line and Studios. We help our content partners and businesses grow to serve our customers worldwide. Our teams are visible and our services are fundamental to Prime Video operations.Commerce FinSys offers the opportunity to innovate with direct impact on Prime Video worldwide. You’ll help us deliver our next generation of services in a collaborative environment while building skills to develop your own career. A successful candidate will have a background in software development on scalable infrastructure and/or consumer-facing products, strong technical ability, solid communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. As an Amazon SDM, you will be front and center in the development, launching, and operating of key software built on AWS infrastructureBASIC QUALIFICATIONS– Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
– Experience in engineering
– Experience in leading the definition and development of multi tier web services
– Experience working directly within engineering teams
– Experience managing engineers
– Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
– Experience partnering with product or program management teamsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS– Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
