Job Posting Title: Environment ModelerReq ID: 10097815Job Description:Walt Disney Animation Studios has an exciting opportunity for Environment Modelers to join the team at our Vancouver, BC studio. As a Modeler at our studio, you will build complex 3D models including prop models and complete set environments. You’ll work with a team of artists, including Visual Development Artists to interpret designs, and build and refine models for production.Responsibilities:Build complex set and prop models with organized, efficient, polygonal topology including: vehicles, buildings, plant life, terrain and complete set environments. Models will need to be constructed to account for mechanical articulation when necessary.Complete organization and packaging of assets for efficient downstream consumption.Work well in a collaborative environment.Address direction and feedback from Leads, Supervisors and Directors.Key Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience3+ years of professional experience modeling in MayaAn understanding of ZBrush/MudboxDemonstrates ability to learn new toolsetsAbility to translate 2d artwork to 3d modelsExperience creating stylized environments and propsStrong problem solving skillsProven ability to be detail oriented and to work efficiently within a production environmentMust be able to work in a collaborative environment, taking direction from the Supervisors and feedback from the Art Director and Director(s)Bonus Qualifications:Layout experience a plusExperience with 3d modeling, set dressing and presentation tools such as Houdini, Blender, Clarisse and Marmoset a plusPrevious experience with traditional 3D sculpting a plusScripting (Python) background a plusBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience The hiring range for this position in British Columbia, Canada is C$87,210 to C$112,860 per year. This hiring range covers candidates who are considered experienced level. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
