Result of Service
- Successful launch of additional social media channels.
- Development and implementation of a content calendar.

Duties and Responsibilities
Social Media Management:
- Create content calendar for social media building on the draft editorial calendar developed.
- Maintain consistent posting and engagement on ROSA social media channels (at least 3 times per week, not including re-posts).
- Research and support the launch of additional social media channels for ROSA
- Support the development and roll out of a comprehensive, regional social media strategy aligned with OHCHR HQ overall goals and positioning.
- Design and produce visually appealing and impactful social media graphics.
- Monitor and analyse social media metrics to measure the success of campaigns and make data-driven adjustments.
Content Creation and Design:
- Develop public information materials to enhance brand recognition and promote OHCHR’s mandate and work.
- Support the production of communication materials such as infographics, brochures, reports and short videos.
- Enhance the office’s media asset library, including the maintenance of a photo/video archive in conjunction.
- Provide creative design solutions for various communication needs, ensuring high-quality visual content.
Digital Asset Consolidation:
- Move all video content currently on external or cloud drives into database locations: YouTube for completed Videos, Vimeo for b-roll video P.104A/GV 01.01.2008
- Move all photo content currently on external or cloud drives onto OHCHR HQ Digital Assest Management System (DAMS), with proper metadata and tags for ease of discovery in future.
- Train colleagues how to use and locate material.
Media Engagement and Campaigns:
- Develop supporting materials and visual identity for regional communications campaigns
- Develop and implement communication campaigns, promoting OHCHR initiatives such as #StandUp4HumanRights, #FightRacism, and #IStandWithHer.
- Support organization of -special events in coordination with human rights officers, based on United Nations and national days (e.g., International Women’s Day, Human Rights Day).
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Develop a framework and indicators for monitoring OHCHR’s social media outreach and engagement.
- Produce regular reports on social media activities and campaign outcomes.
- Propose and implement strategies for improving social media reach and engagement based on analysis.
Qualifications/special skills
- Advanced degree in journalism, public relations, marketing, communications or related field. Minimum of seven years of professional experience in social media management, content creation, journalism, communications, public relations, or events planning.
Languages
- English fluency both writing and speaking. Knowledge of other UN languages or local South African languages would be an asset
