  • Maintain and promote a safe and tidy working environment in accordance with company and legislative requirements
  • Operate in accordance with the Company Quality Assurance System and help to improve/develop processes
  • Solve production problems and continuously improve in all areas of operation
  • Structure and prioritise work in a logical and orderly manner to achieve business & personal objectives
  • Plans the allocation and delegation of work
  • Develops an ongoing forward plan (with a minimum 4-week look-ahead window) to confirms how the production schedule will be met
  • Reports on status of current production plan to production manager and updates relevant databases
  • Solves production problems at local level and continuously improves all areas of production
  • Assists in the planning, training and development of team members
  • Ensures that a consistent and strict standard of discipline is maintained and that disciplinary rules are enforced
  • Ensures that employees work within Health, Safety & Environmental procedures
  • Leads regular performance meetings
  • Ensures that inductions, risk assessments and method statements are taken where necessary
  • Writing relevant risk assessments ensuring that team members are assessed and meet the standard for the tasks delegated
  • Responds professionally and innovatively to satisfy the needs of internal and external customers, ensuring that quality standards are never conceded
  • Actively reduces the incident rate, of Non-Conforming errors within the team
  • Ensure that new starters, agency temps and visitors are issued with appropriate Health, Safety and Environmental induction, risk assessment, and method statements
  • Conducts briefings, toolbox talks, minor accident investigations and inspections
  • Ensure premises and materials are secure
  • Ensure plant and equipment is maintained safely and fit for purpose, reporting and resolving defects

QualificationsAbout You

  • Has worked in a manufacturing environment for at least 5 years
  • Proven track record in supervisory management
  • Understands BS EN ISO 9001/9002 and its implications
  • A confident personality with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic IT skills with a good standard of Excel and Word required
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Control Systems (MCS) and their applications
  • Excellent delegation skills
  • Demonstrates an ability to persuade and influence people
  • Results driven
