Regional Business Development Manager – Automotive GroupJob DescriptionObjective: The primary focus of the Regional Business Development Manager (RBDM) is to engage and consult with their Dealer Partners to drive 100% solicitation of every retail customer by a professionally trained Financial Services Manager whose goal is to create maximum potential departmental income consistent with the highest level of customer satisfaction, and ethical business practices. In addition, the RBDM will continually develop and grow the production of the Finance and Insurance (F&I) product suite in pursuit of achieving business objectives.In working towards achievement of this objective the Regional Business Development Manager will be able to: * Perform, instruct, and demonstrate their skill in all phases of the Financial Services Department including but not limited to a professional menu presentation, product expertise, over-coming customer resistance to all products, compliance, lender relations, and interacting professionally with Sales, Sales Management, Service, and Accounting

  • Create and maintain a geographical network of proven Financial Services manager “talent” to assist the staff in their departments and their organizations with exceptional personnel and future potential leaders within the organization. In addition, make themselves available to interview potential internal candidates and provide feedback on those candidates to the partner
  • Plan, conduct, and modify if necessary individual and group training sessions consistent with the ethical sales techniques. It is expected that the RBDM will “role play” sales ideas with all Financial Services personnel and keep their presentations up to date. In addition, provide any new ideas and fresh approaches to all FS personnel on a regular basis, and conduct Sales & Sales Management meetings as requested on a regular basis. In addition, RBDM should attend Sav-a-Deal meetings when possible. RBDM will be responsible for ongoing training and new personnel orientation.
  • Analyze and advise the dealership of any pay plan, incentives, or contests that are impediments to achievement of the departmental financial objectives inclusive of chargebacks, early cancellations, and percentage of total payout.
  • Instruct the Service Department in proper claims procedures and interact with the Service Manager on every visit to make sure the claims procedures and customer service are exceeding expectations and delighting the customer and meeting SLA’s. In addition, the RBDM should act as a liaison in any claims dispute and be an advocate on behalf of the customer and partner to resolve any disputes both efficiently and fairly for all parties. RBDM will be responsible for ongoing training and new personnel orientation.
  • Instruct the Accounting department of all remittance policies and procedures, cancellation procedures, e-Rating platforms, and act as a liaison for any issues Accounting may encounter. In addition, make sure all remittance payments are received in a timely fashion. RBDM will be responsible for ongoing training and new personnel orientation.
  • Will comply with all Company policies and procedures as well as all state and federal regulations and will always work towards creating a culture of “doing the right thing because it’s the right thing to do”.
  • On at least a monthly basis, the RBDM will review the production of every Financial Services Department, identify performance that is below plan, develop an action plan to resolve the issue, and review the action plan with the partner. Results from the action taken should also be reported to the dealership in a timely manner. This process needs to be memorialize and ongoing performance maintained. On every visit, RBDM should be advised minimally of current production.
  • The RBDM show create an annual forecast for each rooftop, and continuous monitor the 5 key elements (right people, properly trained, motivational pay plans, proper processes, and management support) necessary to achieve plan

Business Development Manager Job Requirements * Demonstrated success as a Financial Services Manager

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to conduct training one on one, and with small groups
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to harness financial data to assist dealership in making informed decisions
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Discipline to work independently within budget and consistently exceed plan

Working knowledge of Financial Services Sales menus and Dealer Management System (DMS) a plus
