Applications will not be considered where the application form has not been completed in full.If the role you are applying for involves regulated activity and you have been shortlisted for a first stage interview, you will be asked to fill out a Declaration of Offences Form.The Role of Casual Grassroot Scout (U12-U16)The successful candidates will provide accurate and actionable information on external players for the purpose of player recruitment within the academy age groups through live and video assessment of matches.The locations required to cover are:
- West London
- South London
- North London
- Surrey
- Berkshire
Main Accountabilities
- Work as an integral member of the Scouting Department in identifying grassroot players for the Club who meet the criteria and potential to play for Brentford Football Club.
- To be responsible for identifying and reporting on the most talent unsigned players within the allocated catchment area.
- Being proactive in sourcing of information about upcoming games, festivals, tournaments & events across the local catchment area
- Assist in the scheduling and assigning of matches and tournaments to the Scouting Department to deliver a target driven approach.
- Develop an extensive network of contacts within geographical areas to ensure the Club has a working knowledge of all talented players to support the identification of players for Brentford Football Club.
- To maintain knowledge of the standards of players required to improve playing squads and maintain accurate and detailed reports of all matches attended to ensure players are targeted on specific databases.
- Undertake continuous professional development (CPD) training and/or additional training as identified or required.
- To undertake any academy recruitment duties as requested by the Head of Academy Recruitment & Lead Academy Scouts.
- To ensure that any concerns you observe, or are raised with you in your role, are shared with the Safeguarding Team through appropriate channels.

Person Specification – Essential Personal Characteristics
- Qualification – FA Level 1 Talent ID minimum (or equivalent outside of England)
- Knowledge of designated local area
- Considerable experience in the identification of young players
- Ability to work under pressure & meet deadlines
- Ability to work unsociable hours as required involving work outside normal office hours, evenings, weekends and bank holidays
- A dynamic, hardworking and enthusiastic individual
- Proactive decision maker with excellent communication skills, to work alongside other departments
- Able to always maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information
- Excellent knowledge of player potential and performance
- Experience working in elite Football environment
