Position: Higher Level Teaching AssistantLocation: Garstang, LancashireStart Date: October 2024Contract Type: Full-time, temporary-to-permanentA well-regarded secondary school in Garstang, Lancashire is seeking to hire a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team following the Summer holidays. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as an HLTA across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) and be enthusiastic about committing to a full-time position, which may lead to a temp-perm opportunity.Responsibilities:As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the class teacher with various aspects of the daily classroom activities. Your responsibilities will include assisting in teaching pre-set work to full classes, small groups, and individuals. You will also be responsible for conducting 1:1 and small group intervention sessions to help targeted pupils and those requiring additional support.Requirements:– Previous experience as an HLTA or Cover Supervisor is preferred.– Experience working across KS3 and KS4 is essential.– Flexibility in your approach to work is essential.– Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team.– Experience in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) is preferable.– A genuine passion for working in the field of education is highly valued.If you wish to be considered for this exciting position, please submit your application today, including a relevant and up-to-date CV. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
