A DAY IN THE LIFEAs a Lead Hand, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of responsibilities. Here’s what you can expect in your role:
- Reporting: Directly report to the Site Manager for project updates and customer service needs.
- Team Leadership: Guide and mentor a crew of 5+ Journeymen and Apprentice Plumbers on diverse projects.
- Hands-On Work: Install materials, equipment, and systems with precision to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections to exceed client expectations and ensure compliance with all codes and standards.
- Right-Hand Support: Assist the Foreman by planning and coordinating sub-trades, identifying efficiencies, and maximizing project success.
- Tool & Equipment Management: Oversee on-site tools and equipment, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
- Problem Solving: Collaborate with your team to tackle any issues that arise on-site.
- Compliance: Ensure all installations meet code requirements and coordinate inspections as needed, with a focus on safety and adherence to the company’s Operational Health and Safety Manual.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE
- 5+ years of experience as a Plumber on commercial or multi-residential sites.
- Previous experience as a Lead Hand or Working Foreman is considered an asset.
- Red Seal Plumber Certification.
- Proficiency in plumbing installations with some knowledge of mechanical systems.
- Maintain a friendly and positive demeanor to build good team morale.
- Strong understanding and exposure to industry safe work practices (safety is a priority for us!).
- Outstanding time and project management skills to complete work on time and within budget.
- Self-motivated with the ability to maintain productivity without supervision.
- Reliable and dependable team player that shows up on time.
- Tech-savvy with a willingness to learn new systems and technology.
