The Legal Counsel will provide legal support for sales and service contracts in Region Europe (“REU”) and full legal support to all entities within REU, as well as being available to support Region TIMEA and APAC.What you’ll do at ElektaWould you like to be part of our driven global team, where we aim to attract and invite the best competences to Elekta? We are offering you an exciting opportunity to join our Group Legal team in our beautiful offices near Gatwick Airport, United Kingdom and reporting to the Regional General Counsel who is based in the same office.In this exciting & diverse role, you will, amongst a lot of other things, be responsible for legal review, negotiation and drafting of sales and service contracts within REU, in line with the applicable processes.ResponsibilitiesWork closely with all lawyers in the legal group and be part of a dedicated, productive, high quality, and high energy international legal team.Act always with a focus on ethics and integrity.Incorporate Elekta Values and quality systems into all department functions and responsibilities.Actively participate in the Elekta Legal Department’s global forums, and particularly the Commercial forum.Provide full legal support to the Elekta legal Entities in REU, including supporting on employment and real estate matters (with external support where needed). This will be in general to designated points of contact within the REU but with full flexibility to support in rest of REU where required.Provide Corporate Governance compliance activities and Elekta internal governance requirements, including Signatory Rights for the Elekta legal entities in REU.Provide legal support to REU, including:Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts (including international)Legal risk reviews, analysis and recommendationsApply Contracting Excellence ProcessProvide legal support to other areas of the business as agreed with Regional General Counsel to assist with capacity issues elsewhere in the team.What you bringGraduate from English law school with strong academic credentials.Member, in good standing, of local bar associationAt least 1 year of full-time practice as a qualified lawyer with in-house legal experience.General understanding of laws and regulations relating to patient/data privacy, corporate compliance, anti-corruption and anti-competitionKnowledge of the Medical Device Industry, including Regulatory knowledge (FDA, MDR, etc.) is a plusOrganized, detail-oriented, and efficient.Strong sense of ethics, integrity, and sound judgement.Must be able to strike sensible and practical balance between legal risks and the need to do business.Adept at working in a fast-paced, high activity environment with smart and creative people.Good negotiation, oral and written communication, presentation, training, organizational, and teamwork skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Good organizational, time management, and project management skillsWhy should you join Elekta?In this role, you will work for a higher purpose; hope for everyone dealing with cancer, and for everyone regardless of where in the world, to have access to the best cancer care.
