Marketplace (B2B2C) – A free service that helps families and retirees find the UK’s best care homes and retirement living properties. (B2B) – CRM software mapped to the care and retirement living industries unique customer journey. (B2B) – Employee benefits platform, helping corporates deliver outstanding eldercare support to their employees.Since launching, Lottie has now supported hundreds of thousands of families navigate the stressful later living system, while helping thousands begin their next chapter in later life.The opportunityWe are looking for a Lead Software Engineer (Engineering manager) to lead and build out Lottie’s new Care Operating System vision. This new product is a critical evolution of how Lottie serves its partner providers and will support them in digitising their day-to-day operations, but will also be how we bridge the gap between care seekers and providers in the future and ultimately deliver a 10x customer experience.You’ll have the opportunity to architect and figure out how we build this new world alongside our Principal Software Engineers and help build out the team (we’ll be bringing in new people as well as moving people around in the business). Alongside the Head of Product and CTO you’ll be taking responsibility for product and technical decisions and ensure we are thinking about the future.Our stack is relatively modern but in this job we haven’t made any core technical decisions and so would love you to come in and help on that journey.What you’ll be doing

  • Manage a team of 2-4 awesome engineers and help them grow and deliver value at Lottie
  • Drive the product decisions alongside the product manager about what we’re building and how
  • Architect the future of the Care platform and help build a better search for everyone
  • Make key architectural decisions alongside leadership as to how we evolve our products
  • Work with the rest of leadership to create a great, inclusive and productive environment
  • Own the development of new features from conception to completion
  • Mentor other engineers in best practices and level up the engineering function

What problems you might be solving

  • Figuring out how to integrate models in understanding the quality of enquiries
  • Deeply integrating our customer experience with the supplier experience
  • Leveraging the latest technologies to solve the right problems (think things like Qwik, Sanity, tRPC etc)
  • Building robust and clean data pipelines that give suppliers a depth of information and understanding about potential enquiries and customers

  • Depth in experience around B2B and B2C product development and delivery in cross functional teams – building an amazing experience that’s fast, accessible and scalable really excites you
  • Is interested in pushing the boundaries of how we build a high-performing website – edge compute, Qwik, Sanity are all bits of software we really love
  • Wants to manage and grow people – understands the most important thing is a high functioning and happy team
  • Has worked in complex software systems – both front-end and back-end and understand the importance of good data structures, a scalable architecture and constantly evolving tech stack
