We value individuality and diversity, which allows us to work together to create innovative approaches for our customers.We’re currently looking to recruit a Software Engineering Lead to join our technology team.PositionAbout the role…The Software Engineering Lead will be accountable for:

  • Working collaboratively with our product team and the rest of the engineering team to develop new features and infrastructure based on cloud native technologies, and to resolve complex software engineering problems.
  • Employing and share best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance
  • ·Ensuring application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful design, and supporting the rest of the team in troubleshooting issues
  • Managing our AWS environment based on the operational and security pillars of the Well Architected Framework
  • Collaborating with other team members in making architectural decisions for performance and security
  • Maintaining and evolving our CI/CD pipeline so we can release quality code to production without manual intervention

RequirementsTo be considered for this role of Software Engineering Lead we are looking for individuals to demonstrate the following skills, experience and behaviour:

  • Expert Java knowledge.
  • Experience building AWS infrastructure with Terraform.
  • Spring framework.
  • Web services, APIs, (e.g. REST, SOAP, API Gateway).
  • Git.
  • Building and maintaining production containerised applications in AWS, Kubernetes & Docker.
  • Successful leadership of software development teams.
  • Experience working in DevOps culture, processes, practices and tools.
  • Ability to bring cross-functional teams together to solve problems.
  • Reviews Pull Requests constructively but rejects inferior work.
  • Takes ownership of areas of responsibility.
  • Timely and logical decision making skills.
  • Sets clear direction and objectives to reports.
