The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, improving, and monitoring export and other regulatory/legal compliance processes for our company on a global scale. This role requires a deep understanding of international trade regulations, including for dual-use goods, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders both within and outside the company.Key Responsibilities:Export

  • Monitor and manage global export activities to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including but not limited to the European Union (EU), the United States (US), and other applicable jurisdictions
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of export compliance processes and procedures to identify and mitigate risks
  • Submit export authorization requests through the French Service des Biens à Double Usage (SBDU) Egide Portal and liaise with regulatory authorities, including the SBDU, the French Agence Nationale de la Sécurité des Systèmes d’Information (ANSSI), and other export-related entities worldwide
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international trade regulations and ensure the company’s export compliance policies are current and effective
  • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and Sales Operations teams as needed
  • Prepare and submit required export compliance documentation and reports to regulatory authorities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external advisors, industry groups, and government agencies to stay informed of changes in export regulations

Regulatory Affairs

  • Stay updated on emerging regulatory frameworks, including, but not limited to, the EU AI Act and the CSRD
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with new and existing regulations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure regulated initiatives comply with all relevant laws and standards
  • Engage with regulatory bodies, industry groups, and other stakeholders to represent the company’s interests and stay informed about regulatory developments

Governance and Risk Management

  • Establish, refine, and maintain internal programs, policies, and procedures to mitigate regulatory risks
  • Conduct training and awareness sessions on export compliance and other regulatory requirements for relevant employees
  • Prepare and present reports on compliance activities, risks, and incidents to senior management

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in international trade, business administration, law, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in export compliance, preferably in a multinational organization
  • Proven track record of successfully managing export and/or other compliance programs and processes
  • Experience in conducting export compliance audits and risk assessments
  • In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, including EU and US export controls
  • Experience working with the French SBDU and other export-related entities around the globe
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in French and English; additional languages are a plus
  • The potential need for occasional travel to support global regulatory activities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the technology or defense sectors
  • Familiarity with customs regulations and import/export documentation processes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
