Quark Expeditions is part of Travelopia, the world’s leading experiential travel business, owned by KKR.Working with a range of internal/external stakeholders and resources, you will manage the product development lifecycle and associated product outcomes for Quark Expeditions. You will support in the development and lead the destination portfolio, the expedition experience, aviation and ground services opportunities (as it pertains to product development) to ensure our product offering continues to be differentiated and advised by commercial & consumer data/insight and a rapidly evolving landscape around industry opportunities/risks, market trends, customer demand and the competitive landscape. You will also support in the management of sailing schedule construction, research, content creation, review and season launch to ensure product goes above and beyond and arrives at market on schedule.The Product Development Manager will play a key role in helping design and launch innovative polar expedition cruise products. You will be responsible for blending creativity with analytical thinking to craft unique offerings that captivate our adventurous clientele, with a steadfast commitment to ensuring the guest experience is top priority.Remote CapabilitiesThis position is remote in Canada, requiring working hours within the Eastern Standard Time zone in alignment with our Toronto-based employees.Compensation: The base salary for this role is $90,000 – 100,000 CAD plus a local Quark bonus scheme.T​he key responsibilities include​:The Product Development Manager – reporting to the Senior Director of Product Development – will play a key role in running the design and launch of innovative expedition cruise products!

  • Sailing Schedule & Product Development: Manage and create innovative cruise itineraries, onboard experiences, and shore excursions, ensuring timely launches and market readiness.
  • Pre/Post-Cruise Enhancements: Develop additional guest experiences for pre- and post-cruise, especially for remote regions.
  • Content Creation & Collaboration: Work with marketing and other teams to produce content that highlights offerings and ensures accurate guest information.
  • Collaborator & Budget Management: Collaborate cross-functionally and lead budgets to improve profitability without compromising quality.
  • Quality Assurance & Feedback: Maintain high standards, regularly evaluate products, and integrate guest feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Training & Support: Provide training materials for teams to optimally promote new products.

​The successful candidate will have​:

  • Product Leadership: Extensive experience in leading and optimizing product development, with a focus on creating innovative travel products, particularly in niche sectors like cruises and expeditions.
  • Collaboration: Strong ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and operations to align teams and achieve product goals.
  • Research & Content Creation: Proficient in using data to advise decisions and in crafting clear, engaging content such as product briefs and training materials.
  • Procurement & Negotiation: Skilled in contracting, building relationships, and negotiating to support product and service procurement.
  • Financial Management: Experience in budgeting, cost control, and margin analysis.
  • Key Traits: Self-motivated, organized, flexible, and passionate about adventure travel.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of shipboard operations is a plus.
  • Education: Degree/certification in relevant fields like Travel & Tourism or Business Admin.
  • Additional Qualifications: Understanding of regenerative tourism and community engagement; proficiency in multiple languages is a bonus.
