Summary You will serve as an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) of the IT Support Services Team of NIOC/CNO ACTIVITY. All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status. Responsibilities You will develop, implement, and coordinate activities designed to ensure, protect, and restore IT systems, services, and capabilities. You will develop and maintain a formal Information System Security process and procedures that data users are aware of, understand, and adhere to systems security policies and procedures. You will implement and enforce information security policies and evaluate compliance of information systems policies and procedures. You will collaborate with teams to develop and implement system certification documentation and modification utilizing the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service and National Institute of Standards and Technology guidelines and standards. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Development of System Security Plans to gain government approvals to operate information systems 2) Maintaining formal Information System Security processes and procedures that data users are aware of, understand, and adhere to systems security policies and procedures 3) Implementing and enforcing information security policies and evaluates compliance of information systems policies and procedures. In addition to specialized experience you must have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1) Attention to Detail – Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2) Customer Service – Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3) Oral Communication – Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4) Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
