In addition to a competitive rate of pay, Alberta Health Services currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.Description:As a Service Worker I, you will be responsible for transporting patients (clients/residents) and equipment to and from different patient care areas within a hospital site. You will distribute and replenish hospital supplies throughout the units and clean equipment and patient care areas as directed. You may also transport lab specimens, blood and blood products, and patient charts. You will report any concerns regarding supplies and safety issues to Unit Managers and perform other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:Grade 12 or equivalent. Additional Required Qualifications:Demonstrated a strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work on a team or independent setting, showing initiative, flexibility for the ever-changing needs and challenges in provision of healthcare, dependability in organizing and carrying out duties, thoroughness and attention to detail. Ability to demonstrate of pleasant and respectful manner in relationships with patients, physicians, staff and public. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to prioritize workload within a dynamic work environment. Ability to handle heavy or awkward items (lifting, transferring, carrying), and withstand considerable walking or standing. Ability to work well on a team or independently, with a strong focus on providing safe, timely and efficient patient care. Ability to remain calm while dealing with competing, time-sensitive priorities. Ability to maintain confidentiality of all patient information and health records. Ability to identify own strengths and weaknesses and showing initiative for improvement. Ability to work effectively and efficiently with others and accept change.
