We are welcoming applications for the role of Alliance Data Protection Advisor with Devon & Cornwall Police based at the following location(s): Police Headquarters, Exeter, Police Headquarters, Winfrith, DorsetSalary: Grade 4 – Starts at £24,921 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £27,351 per annum
Please note that the above salary is based on working 37 hours per week. If this role is part-time or you are appointed on a part-time basis your salary will be prorated to reflect this. Exceptions to starting salary may apply if you are an existing Devon and Cornwall or Dorset Police Staff employee substantively posted to a role at the same grade.Type of employment: PermanentType of working arrangement: Hybrid Worker – Hybrid working is a form of flexible working where workers spend some of their time working remotely (usually, but not necessarily, from home) and some in the employer’s workspace.Hours per week: this role is 37 hours per week. Could you manage a demanding and varied workload?If you are you interested in privacy legislation and assisting in Devon & Cornwall Police and Dorset Police process requests under the Rights of Individuals, then the data protection team is recruiting new Advisor roles. The roles can be based either at Police HQ Middlemoor Exeter or Police HQ Winfrith Dorset. Once the induction is successfully completed, which is usually 3-6 months, there is some flexibility to work from home/remotely on a 50/50 basis.What we are looking for from applicants.
- Knowledge of the Data Protection Act and GDPR
- An understanding of the principles around disclosure
- Ability to undertake effective research.
- Good decision-making skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word with the ability to use multiple bespoke IT systems (or similar).
