SalaryThe salary range for this position is CAD $56.19/Hr. – CAD $68.97/Hr.SummaryThe School of Nursing at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver campus, in collaboration with Providence Health Care (PHC), is recruiting for a full-time Tenure Track Assistant Professor who will also hold the newly established Providence Health Care/UBC Professorship in Indigenous Cultural Safety and Nursing.UBC and PHC are collectively committed to the process of Truth and Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples and have embedded this commitment in our strategic plans and operations. [1] UBC and PHC are also proactively responding to the In Plain Sight report into Indigenous-specific racism in health care, and are at the forefront of education, research, and knowledge development designed to support Indigenous Cultural Safety, human rights and health. In all of this work, we are committed to learning from and following the lead of Indigenous Peoples, communities and governments.The successful candidate will be expected to develop an independent program of research focused on advancing Indigenous Cultural Safety in Nursing. They will work with colleagues across PHC and beyond to ensure that advances developed through their research will be applied to nursing and interprofessional practices throughout PHC sites and provincial and national health systems.In addition to their research activities, the successful candidate will contribute to teaching, mentorship, and clinical services aligned with the focus of the Professorship. They will also contribute to strengthening the relationship between PHC and UBC School of Nursing, and to advancing the leadership of the two organizations to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety and Nursing.The successful candidate will be appointed as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at UBC. Successful applicants will have practice experience in nursing, must have earned or nearly completed a PhD in nursing or a related discipline, and be registered or eligible for registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives. Successful applicants must have demonstrated potential for excellence in research and teaching. The applicant’s program of research should be sustainable with the potential to be scaled and spread across Canada, and relevant to current health practice and policy and the future of Canadian health care.Providence Health Care (PHC) is a Catholic-sponsored health care organization rooted in values of compassion, social justice, and respect. - PhD in Nursing or a related discipline (completed or nearly completed).
- Practice experience in nursing.

Your Day to Day:
- Lead research in Indigenous Cultural Safety, collaborating with PHC and UBC colleagues.
- Apply research findings to improve nursing and interprofessional practices.
- Teach, mentor, and provide clinical services related to Indigenous Cultural Safety.
- Engage with Indigenous communities to inform and guide your research and teaching.
- Strengthen partnerships between PHC and UBC to advance Indigenous Cultural Safety and Nursing.
