PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The purpose of the job is to serve as a technical expert responsible for Dispute Resolution along with providing Subject Matter Expertise to ensure accurate policy coverages, resolve audit disputes, and maintain high standards of quality and technical proficiency within the Premium Audit team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs Dispute Resolution as assigned.

  • Corresponds with insureds and agents on audit procedures and results.

  • Works cross functionally with internal departments such as Premium Accounting (Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Premium Billing) Underwriting, SIU among others in addition to auditors to support the work needed for the audit process.

  • Assists to resolve high profile/complex audit disputes, making certain the insured, agent (when applicable), legal teams, and collection department are informed of the outcome.

  • Works with the Direct Collections (DC) department to assist in resolving issues and pursue collection activity.

  • Reviews requests from Premium Recovery companies to ensure that the proper authorizations are present, and the audit is approved to send out.

  • Works with Premium Accounting to resolve billing issues.

Serves as Subject Matter Expert and Provides Technical Expertise.

  • Provides guidance and expertise to Premium Audit team members regarding questions or technical issues.

  • Communicates with National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI), Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau (WCIRB), and other state bureaus on classification and technical issues.

  • Assists Underwriting and agents with classification questions and issues.

  • Assists with training of team members as requested.

  • Assists with special projects as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred with a major or emphasis in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field. Minimum 5 – 8 years of related premium audit experience required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

None Required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Working knowledge in field premium auditing required. Required expert knowledge of proper audit techniques and standards of audits. Must understand and be able to apply Workers Comp audit principles within different jurisdictions and have a good working knowledge of Work Comp, General Liability and Automobile/Garage Liability. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and have working knowledge of a variety of payroll and accounting systems. Must be able to read, analyze and interpret technical journals, financial information, or legal documents. Basic to intermediate business mathematical skills including the ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percent and to interpret financial data and draw conclusions. Ability to effectively communicate technical and financial information verbally. Must have demonstrated presentation skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Works with computers and computer screens for multiple hours per day; must be able to lift and carry 25-40 pounds. Position is sedentary approximately 95% of time. Must be comfortable working independently.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Remote – work from home.

The current range for this position is

$74,932.01 – $126,367.76

This range is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at ICW Group, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors unique to each candidate, including experience, education and the location of the role and considers employees performing substantially similar work.
