Amazon Flex is at the forefront of delivery operations, owning a significant piece of Amazon’s “Last Mile” delivery strategy at current & into the future. The Flex model utilizes independent contractors to help fulfill “ultrafast” customer deliveries including Amazon Grocery, Whole Foods, same day Amazon.com orders, and beyond. Our Finance team works closely with Tech, Product & Program Managers to track performance reporting and support analysis for optimization of labor planning, pricing, routing, and expansion opportunities, which help improve safety, customer quality, and reduce costs.With a rapidly expanding EU team & scope, we are looking for a Finance Manager, who is a strategic thinker and creative problem solver to support this hyper-growth business as part of the EU Flex Finance team. This role partners with business leadership to provide strategic guidance and analytic/decision making support for evaluating and prioritizing projects or initiatives. This role will work closely with EU Flex country leaders and cross-functional business leaders across internal Amazon verticals and the Last Mile organization. Be part of the journey in this exciting space and help make history!This role requires a self-starter with strong business modelling skills, a keen attention to detail, and good track record of influencing business partners. This role has regular interaction with senior leadership and stakeholders across Amazon and requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. The candidate will need to be capable of operating with a high degree of autonomy, and hence needs to demonstrate a high degree of comfort with ambiguity.Key job responsibilities

  • Use solid financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models, interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements, and influence leaders throughout Amazon. These decisions can have global impact.
  • Educate business partners on financial and non-financial trade-offs and provide guidance and financial analysis for new projects and initiatives. You make thoughtful judgement calls in ambiguous environments where data may be scarce or difficult to procure.
  • Identify opportunities to resolve defects proactively. Improve, scale, or simplify finance tools across teams and organizations.
  • Participate in hiring, developing, and mentoring peers and team members.

A typical day in this role provides an opportunity to innovate by building creative solutions and performance measurements to continuously grow and improve the economics of the business, identify projects that maximize results for key stakeholders, and solve complex problems that affect company-wide strategic decisions.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS– Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
– 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of finance experiencePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS– MBA, or CPA
– Advanced Excel skills
– Advanced use of SQL (data mining and business intelligence)
– Ability to prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-growing and often ambiguous environment; effective multi-tasking skills are vitalAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
