Today, PRESTO offers one of the most globally advanced fare payment systems in the world having delivered new ways to pay for customers, including real time PRESTO Contactless with credit and Interac debit and PRESTO in Mobile Wallet across its transit agency clients, including the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). Enhancing the customer experience through continuous improvement while working with our transit agency clients to support their needs, and maintaining a system that performs exceptionally, continue to drive PRESTO toward making transit better for all.Our PRESTO’s Program Delivery Office is looking to hire a Senior Project Manager with strong Business Analyst skillset to manage medium to large and complex PRESTO projects or initiatives, and in compliance with scope, budget, and schedules of Project Charters; scope and requirement definition; leads preliminary and detail business requirement and technology solution design, preparation of contract documents, development, and commissioning activities; participating in the development and implementation of alternative delivery options; monitors projects and sub-components for compliance with Metrolinx’s policies and mandates. This position reports into the Director of Program Delivery.Reporting to the Director of Program Delivery, our PRESTO’s Program Delivery Office is seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide comprehensive project management service and deliver initiatives to support our diverse set of initiatives within PRESTO technology teams.What will I be doing?

  • Provide program level leadership to drive PRESTO’s business strategy, working closely with business and technology teams to balance competing needs, and working within broader PRESTO, Metrolinx, and provincial investment governance processes
  • Oversee and is accountable for delivery of Program or Project scope, schedule, budget, risks and issues
  • Formulate, organize and monitor inter-connected projects
  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct business analysis, define or clarify requirements, plan, design, cost, schedule and deliver assigned projects within scope, schedule and cost
  • Facilitates dialogue and discussion between the business and internal and external providers to assist with prioritizing between competing objectives (i.e. running meetings, focus groups, joint sessions, workshops)
  • Reviews and evaluates reports, designs, specifications and documents to ensure adherence to policies, procedures and standards
  • Support other Project or Program Managers in developing and control deadlines, budgets, activities and all interdependencies across business, product, technology, operations and support teams
  • Support and drive program release management activities and communication, inclusive of customer’s UAT phase, field trials, pilots, production deployment and post-deployment support
  • Lead and partner with vendors to deliver state-of-the-art payment solutions
  • Prepare consolidated reports for program directors
  • Advises, informs, and reports to senior management on project activities involving Metrolinx, service providers, vendors and other stakeholders; coordinates and collaborates with other Metrolinx divisions
  • Be an expert in collaboration and facilitation, building relationships and engaging across the PRESTO and Metrolinx organization to involve the right cross-functional resources and stakeholders to ensure program success
  • Effectively manages partner relationships fostering a collaborative approach on risks, issues and concerns
  • Demonstrates Metrolinx’s values and leadership competencies for others, including subcontracted vendors
  • Developing a thorough understanding of the business goals, practices and processes to translate into system functionality and user-requirements that define project scope and specifications

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?

  • Completion of a degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent. Professional Project Manager (PMP) certification is an asset
  • Demonstrated years of progressive project management experience within IT, finance and/or technology environments; experience delivering projects related to distributed multi-vendor transactional systems, financial systems, or mobile payment apps considered an advantage
  • Demonstrated experience in the planning, design and implementation of cross-functional projects
  • Proven experience as a Program Manager or other managerial position
  • Experience with quantitative and analytical tools (e.g. data modelling, workflows, and business process analysis)
  • Knowledge of program management, planning, budgeting, prioritization, risk and change management principles, methods and techniques to manage the development, deployment and implementation of large-scale initiatives
  • Proficiency in the use of project management related applications including expertise with MS Excel
  • Strong interpersonal, oral/written/presentation communications skills to document and present business needs, specifications, reports, project documents, and implementation plans
  • Leadership and management skills to manage and motivate a team/unit as well as cross functional teams and set high standards and clear expectations
  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
  • Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and superior stakeholder management and problem-solving ability
  • Strong understanding of the retail payments industry and its technology
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience in managing and negotiating with major vendors and suppliers to ensure project success
  • Effective written, oral, presentation and interpersonal skills to articulate and present advice, options and recommendations to senior management, executives and business clients on projects and technology solutions
