POSITION: Production Worker (15 Positions Available)
REPORTS TO POSITION: Supervisor RRC
DEPARTMENT: Remanufacturing & Repair Centre
LOCATION: North Bay

We offer competitive salary, excellent benefits, a defined benefit pension plan, paid vacation, 3 paid personal leave days along with discounted transportation on our bus and passenger rail services.ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:The Production Worker will work with the other trades adhering to production schedules in a safe manner.MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works independently and with other trades in the remanufacturing and repair of equipment used in the transportation industry
- Works from blueprints, sketches, manufacturer’s patterns, circuit diagrams or schematics, and construction specifications
- Uses hand and power tools commonly used in the industry
- Adapts to new methods, processes, material and equipment
- Follows prescribed safety procedures including the use of safety clothing and equipment
- May work various shifts and on weekends and some work outdoors in adverse weather
- Performs other related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Secondary School Diploma or General Educational Diploma (GED)
- 1-2 years experience in a production environment
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Experience in finish carpentry, window and flooring installation considered an asset
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Proficient in reading, interpreting and working from blueprints
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written)
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Knowledge of safety codes and demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious manner
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Commitment to Health and Safety
- Must be able to work shift work
