We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain – and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.The Data Center Community is looking for an extraordinary individual with proven and tested leadership and management skills to support in our data center operations in the London region.Data Center Operations Cluster Manager is one of our most senior management roles in the data center environment. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a large organization, Data Centre Operations Managers and their teams who own data center infrastructure including the operational availability of network and server systems at scale.The pace, scale, and growth of Amazon’s data center platform will challenge you. Key job responsibilities
– Lead and supervise a team of Data Center Managers (3-9 front-line supervisors depending on location) and 40-80 DCO Techs within Regional Data Centers.
– Attainment of organizational performance goals and objectives relating to safety, security, availability, scaling, and efficiency in support of our data center operations.
– Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
– Accountability for meeting and exceeding operational goals.
– Strategic planning and forecasting; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; resolve problems; and address staffing needs.
– Obsess over team learning and development, both from a technical/functional and soft skills (critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and adaptability) development perspective including mentoring and training.
– Develop, improve, and share operational best practices across the globe.
– Hiring, managing, and developing the operations management team including data center managers and data center operations technicians.
– Planning and executing the Infrastructure Operations component of new AWS data center build-outs, new colocation build-outs, AWS data center expansions, and colocation expansions, including the network and server rack infrastructure to facilitate the daily operations.
– Experience in successful in-sourcing and/or outsourcing specific task balancing internal skill-sets with frugality.
– Continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools.A day in the life

AWS Infrastructure & Network Services teams are building intelligent software to automate the infrastructure operations that drive Amazon Web Services. We’re providing internal and external customers the opportunities to consume infrastructure directly, without human intervention. Our teams leverage AWS technology to support data center operations, networking, infrastructure, and support engineering and development. Come join us to build, architect, design and implement distributed systems that provide availability, scalability and latency guarantees across the full breadth of AWS services.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS– Several years management experience in an operations, critical infrastructure, manufacturing, production, or distribution environment
– Several years experience implementing LEAN/Six Sigma methodology (continuous improvement, 5 Whys, Root Cause analysis, etc)
– Sevral years of experience in working with network cabling, optic types, and test equipment, and experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies within a data center-based environment.
– Experience of managing large-scale distributed systems,PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS– Safety, security, and availability incident response, incident management, and incident resolution..
– LEAN Certification/Belts
– PMP/PMI certification
