Our client company is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day priorities in solving clients VHF/UHF Radio, Telephone, Networking & PC hardware related issues based out of our Richmond, BC office.Location: Richmond, British ColumbiaCompensation: Direct Hire, Wage and Benefits NegotiableJob Duties

  • Coordinates, prioritizes and resolves issues encountered by customers.
  • Analyze, identify, and restore system failures and equipment malfunctions.
  • Performs a variety of duties, including but not limited to servicing, operating, maintaining, repairing, and removing equipment.
  • Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications, and enhancements to products in accordance with specific customer specifications.
  • Manages technical products, services, logistics and provisioning, quantity surveying, and configurations to assigned customers.
  • Troubleshoots technical problems and recommends actions to company or customer representatives.
  • Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications.
  • Install & maintain digital wireless communication equipment in the VHF, UHF, 800 MHz bands operating on trunking or conventional modes
  • Install & Maintain dispatch console systems.
  • Manages statement of work to meet customer and contract requirements.
  • Contacts customer, collects feedback, and establishes/ maintains good relationship with customers.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with RF testing equipment and troubleshooting skills
  • Be self-motivated and able to work effectively both in a team environment and under minimal supervision in the field.
  • Completion of a practical course in the RF Radio & Electronics (an asset)
  • Completion of a practical course in CompTIA A+ or equivalent (an asset)

Important Notes

  • Travel 30%
  • Will be working in various locations where valid Canadian citizenship, valid driver’s license and vehicle are required.
  • Monday to Friday workdays with rotational on call
  • Applicants will be subject to a government security screening
