Main duties of the job

  • To co-ordinate administrative and clerical services within the Medicine Care Group, ensuring an efficient, effective and high quality service is provided. To be responsible for setting up and maintaining comprehensive administrative systems.
  • To supervise and co-ordinate the administrative staff daily
  • To provide efficient administrative support to the Cardiology Admin Manager within the Medicine Care Group

  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent.
  • Previous administrative experience
  • Experience of working in an NHS Trust environment
  • Previous clerical/reception experience in a similar role
  • Literate and numerate
  • Knowledge of Hospital systems (i.e. PAS)

ExperienceEssential

  • Ability to cope with occasionally unpleasant working conditions and exposure to acute complex situations, anxious and distressed patients and relatives and care of the seriously / terminally injured or ill.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and also alone
  • Strong administration skills
  • Effective communicator both orally and on paper
  • Ability to act and ensure delivery
  • Responsible and flexible attitude and approach.
