We also have offices in Scotland and various distilleries and production sites across the UK from Plymouth to London to Speyside.Your new teamThis position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.The scope of Operations stretches from Procurement through conversion (distillation and maturation) and manufacturing (or bottling) to all the downstream Supply Chain activities until the final product is delivered. In addition, Operations play a very active role in Innovation, Talent Development and Operational Risk Management.The Inventory Planning team ensure we can meet our short and long-term market demand by analysing our maturing spirit inventory over the short, medium, and long term. The team work with a large volume of data and use analytical skills to determine the most appropriate stock to use to fulfil demand whilst maintaining the integrity and quality of our large portfolio of blends.Your unique contributionIn this role you will plan & co-ordinate all Bulk Operations activities relating to all operational areas.You will have five main areas if responsibility:

  • Spirit Availability – to convert bottling demand into operational requirements, and action and monitor the new distillate filling programme.
  • Operational Planning – to provide operational areas and Transport department with short-term plans and activity schedules and to assist in the preparation of medium / long-term scenario analyses. You will also monitor, record and report progress of production plans and communicate any changes on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Warehouse & Labour – to prepare and maintain warehouse space reports to measure against annual plan and to determine top level labour requirements to enable plans to be achieved.
  • Collaboration – to effectively direct production planning and review meetings and provide Local Operations Management with feedback and reports on long term operational plans. You will activate requests from customers for cask removals from all CBL sites.
  • Business Improvement – to facilitate the process of corrective action and continuous improvement within the planning function.

Who you’ll be working withInternally, you will collaborate with colleagues across Inventory & Planning, Blending, Bulk Operations, Customer Service, Finance and the wider Production function.Externally, you will collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure delivery of services to the highest quality.Your blend of talentThis position could be right for you if you:

  • Have previous experience in the planning and co-ordination of operations activities, within a manufacturing environment, ideally in the Scotch Whisky industry.
  • Are able to demonstrate strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Can effectively direct production planning and review meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Can demonstrate a pragmatic and insightful approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Are computer literate with strong working knowledge of at least some of the following: MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, Power Bi, SMP, E1, OBI or other similar systems.
  • Hold a full UK driving license.
