This pillar, the largest engineering and product team at Checkout.com, is responsible for the complete customer journey, ensuring a seamless experience for merchants and customers throughout a payment’s lifecycle.In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to focus on one of two key areas:Constructing world-class APIs: You’ll lead the development of robust APIs for payment processing, orchestration, and outcome determination at CKO. We strive to offer the industry’s most complete, easy-to-integrate, maintainable, and transparent APIs. This is as part of ourShaping the Customer Experience: You’ll focus on two major objectives. First, you’ll enhance the user experience for payees by reducing friction in their checkout flow, ultimately boosting conversion rates. Second, you’ll deliver full-stack solutions that simplify integration, configuration, and compliance for our merchants across the .Leadership mentality is crucial. You’ll drive an entire product component and mentor a brilliant team of engineers. We’re ideally looking for someone who is dedicated, upbeat, and truly believes in crafting clean, testable code.How you’ll make an impactManage and support our multidisciplinary team of engineers working on proprietary algorithms as well as help them advance in their careersSupport the design, development, and delivery of new product features across our multi-stack ecosystemTake ownership of the architecture, solutions and the delivery of projectsUphold high standards for our uptime and latency requirements while not sacrificing the veracity of API responsesParticipate in maintaining the team’s cohesion and healthinessHandle our incident response and post-incident investigation processes; participate in on-call rotationsMake critical choices in planning for the long-term vision of our infrastructure and its quality while not overengineeringMaintain high-quality standards for code, infrastructure, and documentationSupport the creation and maintenance of user documentationQualificationsWhat we’re looking forPassionate about leading technical teams, being a leader as well as a managerExperience leading a multidisciplinary technical engineering team on technically and conceptually exciting problemsProven experience in recruiting or building and developing a teamExperience in crafting and leading scalable, high-efficiency, or highly available systemsSolid understanding of SDLC principles and Architectural and Design patterns for Backend and/or Frontend componentsExperience with Continuous Integration and Deployment using DevOps principlesExperience with cloud-based application development (we use AWS)Enjoy learning new skills and using the best tools for the jobExperience with consumer-facing products and domains would be a bonus but is not a mustAdditional InformationJoin Us Today!If you’re passionate about technology, innovation, and making a real impact in the world of digital payments, we want to hear from you.
