Devops EngineerMississauga-OntarioContractDuties ResponsibilitiesThe following is a list of the essential duties and responsibilities of this jobKey Results ExpectationsAssist the team in achieving established goals and departmental objectivesParticipate in an environment that emphasizes trust open communication creative thinking and cohesive team effortContribute to roadmap development execution and releasesWork with other engineering teams to identify and implement infrastructure CICD monitoringIdentify areas for system improvement and implement changes as part of a continuous improvement programWrite code and contribute to the software architecture of a highly concurrent high throughput system on the AWS cloudOperational ResponsibilitiesProvide guidance to DevOps engineers for Terraform based Infrastructure as Code including peer code reviewParticipate in technical design discussions with KUBRA Software Engineering teams that are exploring new cloud infrastructure to support their servicesContribute to the design and improvements of infrastructure architecture development and deploymentStandardize develop and maintain common development tools and infrastructure such as CICD pipelines monitoring cluster management config management etcAssist with mentoring and coaching junior staff membersMaintain professional and technical knowledge by following the broader industry attending training sessions and educational workshopsHelp maintain a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall organization with an emphasis on the KUBRA mission vision guiding principles and valuesMaintain and adhere to quality and service standards analyze and resolve issues identify trends and recommend improvementsDevelop documentation including but not limited to platform requirements and functional specificationsConcurrently work on a variety of projects and tasks using a variety of technologiesMay travel to visit clients or other KUBRA offices throughout North America to participate in design sessions and deliver technical presentations and trainingOther duties as assignedQualification RequirementsTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skills and abilities required Employees who do not possess the requirements for a job at the time of hire are expected to attain the skills knowledge and abilities required within a specified period of time as agreed upon in writing with the hiring manager Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functionsEducation RequirementsBachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experienceTechnical certifications are preferred with preference to AWS and Kubernetes certificationsWork Experience RequirementsMinimum of 5 years of experience in Cloud infrastructure Microservice architectures Operations or DevOps rolesExtensive experience with Amazon AWS cloud services such as EC2 S3 RDS etc is requiredExperience architecting and maintaining highly scalable and available environments with cloud environments is strongly preferredExperience in building running and scaling microservices using Kubernetes Istio Docker monitoring services like Prometheus DataDog New Relic etc etc is strongly preferredKey SkillsAbilities RequiredProficiency in Linux AWS and distributed application architecturesExperience in distributed applications on AWSExperience with AWS EKS KubernetesExperieence with following tools preferred but not strictly requiredTerraformCircleCIArgoCDGithubIstioExcellent writt
