Our mission is to build the data platform for the age of AI, powering a new class of data-first applications and driving a data culture.Within Azure Data, the big data analytics team provides a range of products that enable data engineers and data scientists to extract intelligence from all data – structured, semi-structured, and unstructured. We build the Data Engineering, Data Science, and Data Integration pillars of Microsoft Fabric.The Data Science & Engineering UI Team is hiring a Software Engineer II to take on building out new tools for AI & Data Science based workflows. We work closely with the Design and Service engineering teams to build out the Front End for these new workflows. - Work on new features by collaborating with Lead Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers.
- Work on site reliability and maintain infrastructure and tools.
- Build and maintain tests and testing infrastructure for new and existing functionality.
- Work with other team members to write engineering specs & explore UX design possibilities.
- Participate in on-call rotations to manage incidents with the live site.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience working with one or more web UX frameworks.
Other Requirements:Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
- This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience working with React.
- Experience writing tests.
- Experience writing web applications.
- Experience working with Designers.
