Position Summary:We are looking for a part time seasonal hire who will only work four to six months at UTHealth Houston with our IT department. The main focus of this role will be setting up and imaging computers to be sent out to employees. You will provide technical assistance to users for base software, security products, and desktop applications as well. The key to this role is just knowing a bit about computers and also being willing to lift the boxes they come in. You will be helping with both inventory and installation.Position Key Accountabilities:1. Assists with installing, configuring, maintaining, repairing, and supporting desktop computers, software, applications, and other related equipment in a networked environment.
2. Troubleshoots desktop services and systems.
3. Acts as a technical resource for users, and provides training to users for core computer and applications skills.
4. Documents requests and resolutions.
5. Participates in rollouts, deployments, migrations, and upgrades as necessary.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Education:We prefer an associate’s degree or relevant work experience in lieu of education.Minimum Experience:You should have at least one year of related experience.Physical Requirements:Exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.Security Sensitive:This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215Residency Requirement:Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
