Position Description:

The Healthcare IT Business Analyst II is responsible for assisting with application support for various health IT systems and acting as a liaison between clinical departments and Healthcare IT. Additional responsibilities include collecting, analyzing and developing data relative to business needs and documenting business processes, coordinating specialized technology solutions, communicating work-flows to end users and assisting with departmental procedures.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Assist with all issues related to Clinical Application Systems. Report known issues to end user and take action when appropriate.

  • Documentation of new standard operation procedures related to the implementation process and ongoing support of all Clinical Applications used at TTUHSC clinics.

  • Provide telephone assistance to staff/users when reporting issues associated with all clinical applications used at TTUHSC Clinics.

  • Assist clinical personnel with specialization and modifications of the Electronic Medical Record Application.

  • Coordinate and provide Training to end users on the Electronic Medical Record Application as well as all other clinical software applications. Design and continually improve educational techniques based upon user role and department needs.

  • Ability to create test cases and test the expected functionality of clinical software applications post modifications to the software or clinical environment/infrastructure.

  • Assist with any system modification requests from the clinics related to quality improvement and other clinic initiatives.

  • Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures and processes.

  • Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP’s values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Actively Promote and encourage staff across the institution.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One or more years experience implementing or supporting software applications.

  • Extensive documentation skills.

  • Experience developing training material and providing training of software applications.

  • Experience testing the functionality of application software modifications.

  • Experience with Medical/Clinical Information Systems
