Job Title: Contract Lifecycle SupportSalary: The starting salary is £37,289, which includes allowances totalling £2,841.The salary is broken down as £34,448 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £36,864. Changing operational demands affect the size, make-up, and deployment of our fleet.The Met’s fleet of 5000 vehicles, 1000 pedal cycles and 25 marine vessels are all important physical assets that enable our officers and staff to carry out their jobs. The vehicles are a workplace for our officers and staff, carry sophisticated equipment for operational policing and providing a safe environment for the transport of the public and prisoners.The vehicles are deployed on a wide range of duties and include such variety as general-purpose cars, protected public order carriers, motorcycles, armed response cars, pursuit cars, prisoner transport vans, transfer of plant and equipment. On many of these duties, the vehicles are subject to arduous use, responding to emergencies using police exemptions.MO11 Fleet Services provides professional fleet solutions in support of all operational policing requirements across the Met in the most cost-effective way and is responsible for the entire lifecycle management of the Fleet.Your role within the Fleet Contract Lifecycle Team will provide opportunities for you to get involved with making London the safest global city in a time of unprecedented change within the UK’s largest Police Service.The Role and Job PurposeWorking as part of a team to keep London safe by ensuring a safe, fit-for-purpose and available vehicle fleet at the lowest possible cost to address operational policing demands and meet externally set standards with the specific purpose to:
- Support the Fleet Contract Lifecycle Lead in the design and monitoring of key contract performance indicators across suppliers and business areas, assisting them to achieve their targets through pro-active support.
- Work with the Fleet Contract Lifecycle Team to ensure that the services being delivered meet or exceed expectations and contribute towards the efficient and effective running of Fleet Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Fleet Contract Lifecycle Lead in the design and monitoring of performance indicators across suppliers and business areas, assisting them to achieve their targets through pro-active support.
- Assist the Fleet Contract Lifecycle Lead in ensuring that the services being delivered meet or exceed expectations and contribute towards the financial success factors for Fleet Services.
- Support the development of the specification of requirements to deliver goods and services.
- Contribute towards the achievement of team and departmental targets and KPIs and seek ways to continuously improve performance.
- Analyse various sources of data and make recommendations based on evidential evaluations.
- Provide backup, guidance and support to colleagues and stakeholders in relation to existing and new contracts, project, and performance management.
- Work to provide an effective and efficient service for internal and external partners and customers.
- Take responsibility for Personal Development and keep up to date with relevant standards and legislation changes.

- Understanding of commercial, organisational and governance structures within a large organisation and how they interact with each other to deliver corporate priorities and objectives.
- Understanding of the design, development, and introduction of innovative KPIs and metrics for measuring and improving performance and baseline current performance in order to establish benefits post transformation.
- Knowledge of how to design and present briefing packs to inform Senior Management Teams of contract and department performance.
- Knowledge of contract management and the information required for effective reporting and ability to gather performance data relating to KPIs and SLAs.
- Knowledge of how to implement performance monitoring initiatives internally and externally with stakeholders and suppliers.
Essential Skills:
- Numerate with good organisational skills and ability to problem solve, prioritise, and provide solutions and where necessary escalate to the relevant business leads and stakeholders.
- Experience of working with suppliers and internal stakeholders in order to gain improved business outcomes.
- Ability to utilise various computer systems to generate management information and reports to support decision making.
- Understanding of business needs to identify potential barriers and recommend solutions.
- Capable of working with minimal supervision and conducting data analysis (i.e. root cause analysis) to identify good practice and key areas for improvement.
- Team oriented with good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
Desirable Experience:
- Involved in service improvement and cost reduction through performance monitoring initiatives.
- Assisted in the development and delivery of innovative metrics for measuring and improving performance and setting targets to establish benefits post implementation.
- Supported the delivery of performance management activities within a similar environment involving internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in contract management.
- Ability to recognise failing performance and have confidence to address issues and make improvements.
