Internal IOW and PHU Applicants OnlyDue to the secondment of the substantive post holder, we are looking to recruit an experienced matron into the vacant Head of Nursing post in Planned Care, covering non admitted areas, children’s ward and associated areas and specialist services. This post is critical to supporting and delivering aspects of the elective recovery programme and will offer varied and diverse experience to the successful applicant.Main duties of the jobThe post will be for a 12 month period, commencing January 2025 and will be on a secondment/fixed term basis, covering 5 days week with an on call commitment as part of the Senior Manager on Call rota.The post is open to internal candidates only.   • Registered Nurse (relevant to the field of practice of the Division and or Deputy Head of Nursing ) with a live professional registration
  • Educated to first degree level in nursing, midwifery, or leadership and management
  • Management qualification or relevant experience
  • Evidence of ongoing and relevant personal and professional development in the last 2 years.
  • Expert knowledge of nursing and understanding of related clinical services providing clinical advice to annual planning and service developments
  • Expert knowledge of research and audit
  • Experience of managing a budget and resources.
