ResponsibilitiesMedical Assistant I provides supportive patient care functions for an assigned clinical area, under the supervision of a Physician, Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards. Some duties may be delegated to the MA by the physician or RN.Medical Assistant II/III provides supportive patient care functions for an assigned clinical area, under the supervision of a Physician, Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards. Some duties may be delegated to the MA by the physician or RN. This position requires additional duties which include administration of injectables and or other high level skill performance.Job Title: Medical Assistant I/II/III (MAI/II/III)- CardiologyLocation: The Woodlands, North Houston Campus, Springwoods VillageDepartment: CardiologyJob Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $38,422 -$56,413 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)QualificationsEducationRequired: High School Diploma or GED; graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or school.Preferred: N/AExperienceRequired:MA I – 1 year of directly related experience as a medical assistant.ORSuccessful completion of an externship.MA II– 5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.MA III– 5 years of directly related experience as a Medical Assistant with Certification/Registration as a MedicalAssistant.Or6 years of directly related experience as a Medical Assistant with no Certification/Registration as a MedicalAssistant.*Dept Family Medicine may require 5 years of direct face-to-face customer service, including cash handling orcollections experience within a medical office, healthcare setting, or other service-related industry AND 3years if directly related experience performing phlebotomy services in a patient service center, clinic orhospital setting and 1 year of waived testing and specimen processing experience in clinical setting.Preferred:MA I/II/III – Ambulatory Care experience.License(s)Required: N/APreferred:MA I- Certification within 1 year of hire date.MA II- N/AMA III- N/ASpecial SkillsRequired: Those hired into this position must complete the review/skill validation program within 90 days ofhire.Able to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population.Computer experience.Basic Medical/Nursing terminology.Preferred: Windows bases computer skillsEPIC experienceOtherRequired:MA I- BLS through American Heart AssociationMA II/III- BLS certified through American Heart AssociationComplete the module specific program(s) for MAII e.g. Immunizations-primary; Immunizations-OB/GYN;Wound Care, etc.Preferred: N/AWorking Environment: Medical OfficeAbout UsStart your career journey and become a part of a community of renowned Healthcare professionals.
