Ongoing training and development are part of every job, providing constant growth and skill-building potential.Be a part of the team — our future is bright!In support of achieving excellence and business results through safe, reliable operations, our MCR (Major Component Replacement) division is currently hiring for a Program Manager, Projects position.*More than one (1) may be requiredProgram Manager, ProjectsThis role is accountable for leading and safely delivering large-scale and highly complex capital infrastructure projects or a number of inter-related capital projects that correctly balance the competing demands of safety, quality, schedule and cost. This is a dynamic position to drive our business goals and be a part of a historical project within the nuclear industry and across North America.This is a permanent, full-time position which offers competitive compensation, a world class benefits program and pension package. The position is located on site in Tiverton, Ontario along the sunny shores of Lake Huron.Program/Project Planning, Monitoring and ReportingDirects the efforts of Project Managers and/or integrated project team members in the delivery of their assigned missions and holds such accountability for the entire programMaintains compliance with four pillars of nuclear safety (Reactor, Industrial, Radiological, and Environmental) and upholds Bruce Power’s Safety First – Our Number One ValueEnsures scope, design basis and project/program objectives are defined, best practices/lessons learned reviewed and incorporated into schedules, budgets, specific project procedures and plans are establishedAccountable to inform senior management of issues, risks, threats, and opportunities to the performance of the program/project. They are also accountable to provide analysis of options, recommendations and recovery plansEvaluates project/program status against established milestones and objectives by analyzing information presented. Measures performance, and takes the necessary corrective actions to maintain commitmentsSupports the Project Managers and their teams in resolving challenges affecting the successful execution of work. Listens and responds appropriately to concerns, developing solutions that become process improvementsReviews project/program deliverables, validates adherence, and recommends their passage to the next phase of the program lifecycle using established processes for making major decisions for projects/programsInterfaces regularly with the customer and stakeholders throughout the project/program lifecycle in order to ensure execution is in line with commitments and expectationsParticipates in Project Delivery Organizations or Company decisions affecting long- and short-range courses of action for assigned programsIntegration and Alignment with other Departments and Bruce Power DivisionsWorks with other senior managers to set overall strategy and objectives for the programs/projectsReviews and ensures quality of the project and program Risk Registers and Mitigation/Avoidance PlansSupports the development of and adherence to the Program Management Plan to manage and execute projects. Utilizes the tools provided to manage the program through key metrics such as Earned Value ManagementAnticipates problems and proactively consults with other managers in identifying issues that may hinder the success of a program/project. Develops strategies and presents solutions to affected groups for concurrenceBuilds strong cross-functional work relationships with other Bruce Power departments to continuously improve performance and to remove emergent challenges that may prevent the achievement of a key project milestoneRepresents the company in matters of program and project delivery as required at meetings, briefings, conferences, with external authorities as requestedDevelops and delivers written reports and formal presentations to the customer, stakeholders and regulators, on relevant matters specific to the program/projects and offers thoughtful responses to questions and concernsPlanning & Staff LeadershipEvaluates workload projections and staffing requirements specific to program/project needsEffectively manages resources to meet the program requirements and sets priorities if requiredEnsures consistency across their program of projects, reflective of acceptable, but ever-improving qualityGuides and coaches staff on how to proceed when problems are encountered to ensure that they are resolved promptly and that decisions and initiatives are in line with divisional goals and strategiesAttracts, develops, mentors, manages and retains qualified high-performance personsEnsures project staff receives regular performance and developmental feedback, and that their functional manager is notified. Executes individual performance management and improvement plans as necessaryKnowledge and SkillsExperience delivering EPC projectsKnowledge of CSA N286-05 – Canadian Standard Association’s Management Systems Requirements for Nuclear Power PlantsHighly developed skills in the following: Project management and controls; leadership; staff development; stakeholder management; communication both written and oral; construction methods; analytical and problem solving; decision making; interpersonal; organizational and negotiation skillsAbility to manage key stakeholder interests while managing priorities and business interestsA team player, who can interrelate and operate effectively with peers and other associates within a collegial, yet demanding and complex work environmentSolid knowledge in various functional areas across different disciplines in order to effectively manage, influence and control multi-disciplined teams in the successful delivery of the programsEducation and ExperienceA 4-year university degree in a relevant fieldA minimum of 10 years’ experience in a leadership role, in an industrial/construction setting responsible for leading safety programs in a safety-critical or regulated environment such as on a nuclear licensed siteDemonstrated ability to successfully manage and build multi-functional project teams to execute multi-million EPC projects in accordance with the established Bruce Power Project Management guidelines or similar based on the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®)Demonstrable record of project management and leadership skills on a high value capital construction programs/projects within the expected scope, quality, schedule, and budget.
