On the Business Partnership (BP) Team within Finance Operations (FinOps), you will find yourself working with multi talented and dedicated people committed to driving financial improvement, scalability, and process excellence.

As Amazon continues to grow, we are recruiting a FinOps Business Partner in Non-Inventory Accounts Payable to drive expansion in complex and innovative situations. You will lead critical initiatives across businesses, tech teams, and other stakeholders to drive change and implement scalable solutions to increase Vendor Experience, Amazon productivity and Free Cash Flow (FCF).

You will work with leaders across the world from a diverse range of organizations, including Transportation, Operations, Tax, Marketing and Legal, using your analytical and problem-solving skills to manage complex and high visibility priorities in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Build financial and operational analyses to drive global growth and scale, using data to influence senior leadership decisions, defining project plans and delivering high-quality, systematic solutions to prevent and eliminate defect

  • Partner with upstream business and technology teams to develop and deliver continuous system and process change, ensuring process excellence and highest levels of controllership

  • Define key performance indicators – develop metrics and service level agreements for core programs and processes, tracking delivery against program objectives

  • Drive resolution of critical vendor issues, working with FinOps Services and cross-functional teams to deep dive root cause, drive correction and improve customer experience

  • Communicate program and policy updates to senior leaders and employees across multiple business and finance teams

  • Negotiate efficient and reliable processes and policies across partner teams to systematically eliminate dependencies and defects.

  • Identify and quantify financial and operational risks and opportunities, driving ad-hoc projects as required

  • Develop mechanisms to seamlessly support new program and tool launches worldwide.

  • Work cross-functionally to identify key opportunities in process, technical, and human interfaces and develop and implement plans to capitalize on those opportunities and measure and monitor success and impacts

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or a Bachelor’s degree and experience in multiple finance and accounting roles

  • Experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field

  • Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses

  • Experience in accounts receivable or account payable

  • Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results

  • Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan

  • Experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL
