County Outpatients has a vacancy for a dynamic, kind reliable and motivated individual to become part of a team that delivers high standards of quality care for our patients.Main duties of the job
- Describe and document clinical tasks undertaken for patients within nursing documentation. Any changes in condition must be reported to a Registered Nurse/Midwife.
- Provide basic clinical advice to patients.
- Deliver clinical care to patients maintaining privacy and dignity
- Undertake a limited number of clinical skills for which competence has been achieved in agreement with the ward manager.
- Report to Registered Nurse any patient who gives cause for concern or any observed changes in the patient’s condition.
- Obtain and record urine, stool and sputum specimens and perform urinalysis.
- Respond correctly to clinical emergencies to ensure the patient receives appropriate care.
- Chaperone/escort patients to other clinical departments under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Assist patients who are distressed and provide support for the family and/or friends.
- Undertake blood glucose monitoring
- Undertake ECG’s
- Obtaining blood samples (Venepuncture) when required.
- Limb observation post vascular surgery.
- Assess for pressure damage
- Perform bladder scans.
- Undertake simple and advanced dressings under direct supervision of a registered Nurse
- Remove clips, and staples using aseptic technique.
