Job Description:Head of Client Development – UKAny UK office (3 days per week in the office)Role OverviewVario is a market leading alternative legal services provider within the law firm, Pinsent Masons. It is unique in the legal sector. Vario is a practice group within Pinsent Masons which incorporates; Flexible Services, Consulting and Technology, Legal Project Management and Managed Legal Services (‘MLS’). This role will sit in our Flexible Services team.The Flexible Services team is split across Glasgow, Birmingham, London, Dubai, Munich, Singapore, Sydney and Melbourne. It consists of 40 team members. Together, they are at the front line of delivering flexible legal resource to clients from cradle to grave.In conjunction with the Head of Flexible Services UK and APAC, this role will actively contribute to strategy and business planning and will be responsible for measuring performance against team and individual targets.Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing a pipeline of potential new clients to support the growth objectives of the Flexible Services team
  • Developing relationships with existing clients and identifying/leveraging new business opportunities
  • Ensuring all client activity is up to date and shared with internal stakeholders
  • Developing and maintaining a CRM strategy to manage client data effectively
  • Engaging in pricing, bid preparation and contract negotiations
  • Proactively generating leads with new and existing Flexible Services clients to create opportunities across the Vario group as well as the wider firm
  • Collaborating with the Vario group alternative legal services and wider firm capabilities to ensure we are taking the whole firm to clients
  • Supporting the wider Account Management team to explore opportunities for growth
  • Oversee the development of marketing materials to support client engagement initiatives

Our standard working hours are 9.30am-5.30pm, however, we are happy to consider flexible working requests.Candidate OverviewWe are looking for candidates who ideally hold the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable knowledge of the UK alternative legal services market
  • Significant experience of client relationship management
  • Strong track record in growing existing and new business
  • Experience of working in a professional services business, ideally an alternative legal services provider
  • Significant leadership skills
