Job description
Printing Services is an Ancillary Services unit that provides cost effective, timely and high quality print-related services in support of Dalhousie’s teaching, learning and research activities. Reporting to the Manager of Printing Services, the Print & Production Support Coordinator is a member of the production team responsible for producing a wide range of documents under the guidance of the Production Supervisor and Print Technicians and is tasked with assisting customers and coordinating client requests to ensure deadlines are met and customer satisfaction is achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with trouble shooting for customers using the quick print, self-serve computer stations and printers, resolve order issues and contact customers (i.e., incorrect order received or missing order).
- Operate various office printers, large format printer and fax machine – including refill paper trays, clear jams, change toner cartridges, and submit service calls.
- Safely operate laminator, punch, coiler/crimper, cutter, folder, perforator, drill, and shrink wrapper to finish and package various types of jobs for customers, and prepare and process shipments.
- Receive deliveries including operating pallet jack as needed to receive pallets of paper and printed materials.
- Assist customers at the front counter, answer phone calls, respond to voice messages and email enquiries regarding order status, shipments, deliveries, products and services offered, and pricing, generate daily reports, and complete data entry.
- Order intake for printing, photocopying, finishing, exam scanning, faxing, and supplies – includes completing order forms on behalf of customers. Perform other administrative duties as required.
NoteDue to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, demonstrated technical ability and two years of experience working as part of a team in a customer service, business or office environment (equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Previous experience working in print production.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Demonstrated communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access), Adobe Acrobat and InDesign.
Assets
- Knowledge of digital print processes and training in pallet jack operation and ladder safety.
